Biografía

Pintor, grabador y escultor. Ha expuesto en numerosas ciudades de España, Francia, Suiza, Italia, Japón, Estados Unidos …

Ha obtenido numerosos premios entre ellos, la Medalla d’Or de la Generalitat de Catalunya, 1984; la Medalla d’Or de la Ciutat de Barcelona, 1984; la Medalla de Oro de Bellas Artes, Madrid, 1984; Premio Nacional de Grabado concedido por la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, Madrid, 1995; Premio Tomás Francisco Prieto concedido por la Fundación Real Casa de la Moneda, Madrid, 2003.

Reseña crítica

 

“Podemos afirmar que para Clavé el grabado es una extensión de la actividad de pintar, pues el grabado tiene un carácter eminentemente creativo, más allá de su carácter funcional o singularidad técnica. Grabado y pintura o pintura y grabado corren en paralelo tanto por los contenidos temáticos -los símbolos-, como por los formales -riqueza cromática, fuerza del trazo-, la materia -materiales raros en combinaciones insólitas- o la simple alteración de las superficies”. Biography

Painter, engraver and sculptor. He has exhibited in a lot of cities in Spain, France, Switzerland, Italy, Japan, The United States…

He has won large awards such as the Golden Medal of the Generalitat  de Catalunya, 1984; The Golden Medal of the Ciutat de Barcelona, 1984; The Fine Arts Golden Medal, Madrid, 1984; Etching National Award given by the Fine Arts Real Academy in San Fernando, Madrid,1995;Tomás Francisco Prieto Award given by the bureau of engraving and printing Real   Foundation in Madrid, 2003.

Critical review

 

“We can affirm that according to Clavé the etching is an extension of the painting activity, as the etching is highly creative, beyong its functional nature and its technical peculiarity. Etching and painting or painting and etching spread at the same time not only by their thematic contents (symbols) but also by their chromatic wealth, line strength-, the material- strange materials in unbelievable combinations- or the simple variation in the surface”.
