Biografía

Lluís María de Pont es autodidacta en cuanto a su formación artística. Firma sus obras con las iniciales, LP. Pintor de obras a la acuarela desde 1976, grabador desde 1990, escultor, orfebre y dibujante.

Entre los años 1992-95 sus acuarelas ilustran los carteles que anuncian la jornada “Pro Orantibus” en España. En 1993 y 1996 se exponen sus obras en el Ayuntamiento de Tiana y en Mataró (Barcelona. España). Es autor de varios libros sobre la figura de santa Teresa de Lisieux publicados con el pseudónimo de Àngel de les Gavarres.

Sus obras se encuentran en diversas cartujas de la Orden y en numerosas colecciones particulares de Europa y América.

Texto sobre la acuarela

“Todos esos paisajes muestran características comunes, como la soledad que arropa o envuelve el silencio característico de la Orden. La ausencia de personas nos recuerda que son parajes naturales que los seres humanos no han perturbado ni hollado con su presencia. Son espacios donde uno se adentra descubriendo a cada paso la naturaleza en sí misma, en su ciclo natural, en su canto sereno y limpio al Creador. Son paisajes que invitan a disfrutar de todos y cada uno de los elementos tanto materiales como inmateriales (aire, luz …), que los conforman en la realidad y en la pintura. Son fragmentos de la realidad que el cartujo vive y donde él disfruta físicamente compensando la estrechez de la celda… A LLuís María de Pont no le interesa en la acuarela el detalle. No encontraremos las hojas ni distinguiremos los árboles a través de éstas. En general, sólo le interesa la masa boscosa, con colores puros, sin matices. Las diferencias se reducen a los efectos de la luz sobre el conjunto, las copas de los árboles, los troncos y el suelo. El color es luz y cambia en función de ésta reflejando los distintos lugares y sus climas y vegetación, entre los que ha vivido”. (Fco. Javier Caballero Bernabé. Text about the aquarelle

“All of those landscapes show common characteristics, such as the loneliness which enfolds or involves the peculiar silence of the Order. The lack of people reminds us that they are natural settings which have not been disturbed by the human being. They are locations where anyone can go into discovering the real nature, its natural cycles, its sober and clear singing to the Creator. They are landscapes which invite us to enjoy each and every one of the elements as much the materials as the inmaterials (air, light,…), which are part of the reality and painting. They are passages of reality which the cartujo lives and where he enjoys physically compensating the narrowness of the cell… Lluís María de Pont is not interested in the aquarelle details. Neither we will find the leaves nor we will distinguish the trees through them. In general, he is only interested in the woody mass, with pure colours without any shades. The differences are reduced to the light effects on the whole, the tops of the trees, the trunk and the ground. The colour is light and it changes depending on it, reflecting the different places, their climates and vegetation in which he has lived”. (Fco. Javier Caballero Bernabé. Texto sobre los grabados

 “LAS CASAS DE LA ORDEN DE LA CARTUJA EN EL MUNDO”

Es una colección única de grabados originales realizados por Lluís María de Pont entre los años 2005 y 2010. La carpeta se compone de 28 estampas diferentes de las cartujas habitadas de Europa, América y Asia.

Su obra grabada refleja su vida, los objetos que le rodean o que guardan o indican la presencia de Dios. En este sentido su obra es autobiográfica, constituye por sí misma un autorretrato y, al mismo tiempo, es un retrato de toda su comunidad, de toda la Orden, pues el monasterio, el entorno, son comunes a todos los cartujos. Sus trabajos son hermosos cantos de amor a Dios a través de la plasmación de la belleza de todas las cosas entregadas a él para adornar y santificar su vida. Su obra, contemplada con los ojos del mundo, nos parece buena, llena de belleza, atractiva. Vista con los ojos del autor, adquiere una dimensión distinta; es un retazo en el tiempo de una vida de oración.

La técnica empleada por el autor es la “talla dulce” o grabado manual al buril sobre plancha de cobre. Mediante líneas de diferente profundidad y grosor se obtienen los detalles y el ambiente sugerido en los paisajes y las arquitecturas representadas. Las iniciales “LP” vienen grabadas a modo de firma diminuta en la propia plancha.

Cada grabado ha sido estampado a mano, a una tinta bistre oscuro sobre papel especial BFK RIVES Blanco de 250 gr. en formato 28 x38 cm. Las estampaciones al tórculo han sido realizadas por los estampadores Ramon Pintó y Marta Montcada del taller de Grabado Binomi de Barcelona y por el propio artista.

Lluís María de Pont ha firmado y numerado cada una de las 28 estampas de cada colección en tirada de 60 ejemplares,  respectivamente: del 1 /60 al 60 / 60. El autor ha accedido a iluminar a la acuarela una parte de la edición. Esta particularidad convierte a cada ejemplar en una obra única. (Marta Montcada y Fco. Javier Caballero. Text about the etchings

“THE HOUSES OF THE CARTUJA ORDER IN THE WORLD”

It is a unique collection of original etchings painted by Lluís Mª de Pont from 2005 and 2010. The folder is formed by 28 different holy cards of the inhabited cartujas in Europe, America and Asia.

His engraved work reflects his life, the objects which surround him or they show the presence of God. In this sense his work is autobiographical. It is a self-portrait and, at the same time, it is a portrait of all his community, the Order, as the monastery, the surroundings are common things to all the cartujos. His works are wonderful love singings to God through the beauty expression of all the things given to him in order to decorate and sanctify his life. His work, contemplated with eyes of the world, it seems to be good, full of beauty, attractive. But if it is seen through the author´s eyes, it gains a different dimension; it is a piece of time in a prayer life.

The technique used by the author is the “tender carving” or buril manual etching on a copper sheet. The details, the environment suggested in the landscapes and the depicted architectures are got by means of lines of different depth and thickness. The initials “LP” are engraved by the way of a tiny signature in the sheet.

Every etching has been printed by hand, with a dark cuttlefish ink on a special white paper BKF RIVES of 250gr.  in a 28x38 cm format. The printings have been made by Ramon Pintó and Marta Montcada in the Grabado Binomi Studio in Barcelona and by the author too.

Lluís Mª de Pont has signed and numbered each one of the 28 holy cards in every collection in a edition of 75 copies respectively: from 1/60 to 60/60. The author has agreed to enlighten the aquarelle in a part of the edition. This distinctive feature turns into each copy in a unique work. (Marta Montcada and Fco. Javier Caballero Bernabé.
